3 Places to Go With Kids in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia and has lots of activities for kids. With relatively low prices for food and transportation, you can keep the kids entertained while still staying within your travel budget when in Kuala Lumpur.

We spent three days with our young daughters and were able to do some sightseeing, while also having family fun.

Here’s my top 3 budget-friendly places to go with kids in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

KLCC Park by Petronas Twin Towers

Located right outside of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, this huge park has a big playground with everything a kid could want with slides, swings, seesaws, and a big water play area. Once the kids have burned off some of their energy, take them to the Suria KLCC shopping mall located at the bottom of the Petronas Towers. It has pretty much everything you’d need with a food court, restaurants, a movie theater, and stores.

Chinatown and Little India

Take a trip through different cultures by walking around this densely packed area of Chinatown and Little India. You can visit the Sri Mahamariamman temple, which is the oldest Hindu temple in Malaysia founded in 1873. Just a couple blocks away, you can visit Buddhist temples and walk along the Petaling Street in Chinatown to experience the bustling marketplaces. Keep the kids happy by getting some treats or cold drinks from any of the food stalls in the area. Also in the area is Central Market, which is an indoor plaza selling every kind of souvenir available.

Bukit Bintang – Sungei Plaza

Bukit Bintang is the shopping epicenter of Kuala Lumpur. There are toy stores, food courts, and lots of indoor (air-conditioned) spaces for your kids to run around. We liked the Sungei Plaza for it’s clothing deals, discount book store, and food courts. The kids especially liked eating the ice floss desserts to cool off from the hot and humid weather outside.
