Hey! Thanks for stopping by.

Family travel. Is it for you? Where do you want to go? Can you afford it?

These are questions that we all have when figuring out how to get started with family travel. And once you’ve started, how do you keep it going? How do you make life, school, work, family, friends, health, hobbies, and family travel just work?

Well, you’ve come to the right place. You’ve got questions, I’ve got (some) answers.

So, you’re thinking of…

  • A gap year? Yep, did that.
  • A sabbatical? Did that, too.
  • Traveling while working remotely? Yes! Many times, in fact.
  • Traveling on business trips? Too many to count (think: Vegas about 20 times in 5 years).
  • Normal one- or two-week vacations? Oh yeah.
  • Road trips? Disneyland!
  • Staycations? Love those.

My family and I have been to over 20 countries on 4 continents.

In 2014 and 2015, we traveled for over 15 months throughout the world, staying in different cities anywhere from 3 days to 3 months. Highlights include riding our moped all over Phuket, enjoying the summer festivals in Barcelona, and sleeping overnight at the Seoul Incheon airport.

My daughters, ages eight and five, have done short-term study abroad stints in five countries, including Guatemala, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Spain. The girls went to local schools and my wife and I got time for ourselves to explore the cities as a couple – and as solos. I highly recommend this strategy in your travels, if you can swing it.

It’s been about two years since we returned from our adventures around the world and to our normal life of work and school. Has that stopped our family travel? Heck no.

We’ve still found time to travel to Rio de Janeiro, Madrid, Lisbon, Los Angeles, Hangzhou, Tokyo, and Seoul, and we’ll be in southeast Asia later this year.

No, we didn’t sell our house and all of our belongings to go all-in on our travel dreams. We took it step by step, and figured out our comfort zones and how much we were willing to sacrifice (money, career, relationships, etc.).

Then, we just did it.

Why? Family travel has been the ultimate way to spend quality time with our kids, learn with them, and have some good-ol’ fun along the way.

And I wish the same unto you.

Family travel is something you’ve got to be intentional about, work for, and make part of your lifestyle. Start small. Go slowly. You’ll figure things out along the way.

The key is to go.

It’s a big, beautiful world out there. Why not go see some of it for yourself – and share it with your kids?

WHY NOT?!

Allow me to help you get started on your journey.
